The Green Shoe used "Lake Superior Village 1937" by Canadian artist Charles Fraser Comfort (1900-1994) in the preparation of Shoes 6th short film "Safe". Apart from being one of Green's favorite painters, the smoky palette of this painting was a great inspiration to the design of the film. "Lake Superior Village" is currently on display at the Art Gallery of Ontario, in Toronto, Canada.
