Telefilm Canada has invested in the action-adventure feature entitled Schooled. Shoes Full of Feet ramps up development on the script by Greg Gutman and Darryl Smith. The Green Shoe is attached to direct, with the Red and Blue Shoes producing and new-to-the-team Noel Baker as Story Editor . The investment tops-up funding already received from the Harold Greenberg Fund.
Schooled is about a timid sixth grader who has until the end of the day to find a bully’s treasured artefact lost somewhere in the school in order to stop their fight at three o’clock.

Not your regular fluff bio, each episode goes way behind-the-scenes through uncensored conversations and unlimited access, and takes viewers behind the headlines and into the hearts, minds and conflicts of popular musicians. The show was produced through Georgian Entertainment.

"The Morning Party", the CFC short film produced by the Red Shoe continues to find success on the festival circuit. To date the film has screened at the World Film Festival in Montreal, the Calgary International Film Festival and the Vancouver International Film Festival. The short film "Loonie", written and directed by Michelle Nolden, has been selected as the winning short for the first round of the NSI Online Short Film Festival. The jury decision was unanimous in choosing "Loonie" as ‘best film’ of this round. The Blue Shoe co-produced the film.
"Loonie" is about a 17-year-old boy who shares an emotionally charged and life-changing moment with a homeless, paranoid schizophrenic woman. It can be seen at the Rendezvous With Madness film festival in November 2008.

Shoes Full of Feet is proud to announce that two of our short films are playing on Air Canada. If you find yourself cruising at 39,000 feet before the end of March and are looking for something to watch, check out SAFE and THE CLOCK IS TICKING. Our listing is on page five of the Scene/En Route program.
The Blue Shoe is plugging away on Season Three as Associate Producer of the hit Showcase series RENT-A-GOALIE. Production will goes until March 28. You can find out more about the show by perusing the RAG website.
The Green Shoe is ‘making-a-feature-film-with-pocket-change’ – a unique fundraising strategy for the film AT HOME, ALONE… WITH YOU. The craze is catching on and details can be found on Facebook via this Group.
The Red Shoe is in production on one of the CFC NBC/Universal Short Dramatic Films. The film, entitled THE MORNING PARTY, shoots until February 29th.

"For All the Marbles" is flying overseas for the first time! Selected to screen at the Giffoni International Film Festival, 'Marbles’ is sure to be a hit. Being the largest children’s film festival in Europe and having a jury of over 200 children, Shoes is honoured to have the film playing in competition. The Red Shoe has been accepted into the CFC Producer’s Lab. The five-month course starts on July 16th and is an intensive production workshop that only accepts up to eight participants per year. In addition to the Red Shoe, long-time Shoes colleague, Chris Trebilcock, will be participating in the Director’s Lab.

“For All the Marbles” screens five times at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York City (April 25 – May 5), and we are only one of three films included in a special screening for the kids at the New York Childrens' Hospital on April 30th. All three Shoes will be in attendance, and are pumped to go State-side and represent Canadian filmmaking.

For all y’all Torontonians, the WORLD OF COMEDY FILM FESTIVAL will be screening ‘Marbles’ sometime between March 9th and 11th (http://www.worldcomedyfilmfest.com/index.htm).
And last but certainly not least, ‘Marbles’ has been specially invited to screen at the SPROCKETS TORONTO INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL FOR CHILDREN. The Green Shoe submitted ‘Marbles’ to the Fox Network for the upcoming Reality TV show ‘On the Lot’. Accepted contestants will create short films that will be voted on by the viewing public a-la American Idol. The winning filmmaker receives a development deal!

Shoes Full of Feet has signed an agreement with the educational materials company Casreep Communications (www.casreep.net).
Casreep has created educational packages using two of Shoes' short films for distribution in schools worldwide. "For All The Marbles" forms the backbone of an anti-bullying presentation, and "No Man's Land" has just been included in a Canadian history package. So look for Shoes in a school near you!.

“For All the Marbles” played to a sold-out audience of more than 400 kids at the Atlantic Film Festival. The film graced the screen at the beautiful Oxford Theatre in Halifax on a sunny Thursday morning. The kids laughed and cheered at all the right spots… and had all kinds of fun questions (and high-fives) for the Green Shoe during a post-show Q & A.

The Shoes Boys are ecstatic to congratulate Perfect Day Pictures on a successful completion of shooting for their feature "Love and Other Dilemmas"! Producer Clare Hodge, director Larry Di Stefano, and writer Deborah Peraya were fellow participants with Shoes in the NSI Features First program. 'Dilemmas' is a dark romantic comedy "in the screwball tradition", about a pregnant bride who is kidnapped on her wedding day - then things really start to go downhill! Shoes shares more than NSI with 'Dilemmas', with 'The Leftover Bandit' executive producer Alex Raffe filling the same role on that film.

The Blue Shoe has been lacing up his skates - assisting producers Chris Szarka and Christopher Bolton on their new show "Rent-A-Goalie." Production has just wrapped on this narrative comedy for Showcase Television which will air in the fall of this year. It follows the exploits of Cake (played by Bolton) who runs a rec-league hockey goalie rental service out of Cafe Primo in Little Italy. Look for Blue in person at the beginning of Episode 8!!.

The Red Shoe has returned from Holland and the International Film Festival Rotterdam. During the intensive five-day Producer’s Lab Red met producers from New Zealand, Australia, South Africa, Holland, France, Belgium, as well as a few new faces from Canada. The week long program for emerging producers is part of the CineMart Market portion of the International Film Festival Rotterdam. Another exciting first for Shoes Full of Feet – our first television broadcast is coming up! Watch our short film "Safe" as it premieres on Showcase Television (cable 39 in Toronto) on Saturday November 12 at 8:15 pm. "Safe" was produced through the Ontario Media Development Corporation's (OMDC) Al Waxman Calling Card program, which has launched many a filmmaker's career. The Nov. 12 broadcast is a screening of the last four Calling Card short films.

Shoes’ most recent film, the short “For All the Marbles”, has wrapped. Shooting was completed over three consecutive weekends in October, and the incredible cast and crew braved high winds, ceaseless rain and bitter cold… and as a testament to their courage the footage looks great! ‘Marbles’ follows the adventures of 10-year-old Jeff as he journeys to rescue his lost marble at recess, across a schoolyard fraught with danger. It was funded through grants from the Toronto Arts Council and the National Film Board of Canada’s Filmmaker Assistance Program.

Shoes’ next short film “For All the Marbles” got another shot in the arm, receiving a grant through the Filmmaker Assistance Program, which is run by the National Film Board of Canada (www.nfb.ca). This on top of the previous grant from the Toronto Arts Council doubles the available funds for the project, which in turn means an even better film!

Thank you to all who attended the fully sold out screening of “Safe” yesterday at the Carlton, and a special thank you to the Canadian Filmmakers Festival who hosted a splendid four day event. Also, our apologies to those who were turned away at the box office, but we promise you’ll be able to see “Safe” soon. The screening was a nice cap to a week that began with our web radio interview. Many tried to tune in unsuccessfully and here is why: the station’s server was completely maxed out because so many listeners were tuning in. So one more big, huge thanks!!!

Join us at the Carlton Cinemas (Carlton just east of Yonge) on SUNDAY APRIL 10th at 2 pm, where “Safe” will be screening at the Canadian Filmmaker’s Festival as part of the 2nd Program of Short Films. The festival runs April 7th - 10th, and will screen many great films at the Carlton. Two years in a row! Following a successful screening of 'Clock' last year, the Shoes boys are proud to have their Calling Card film “Safe” accepted into this year's edition of the Canadian Filmmakers Festival (www.canfilmfest.ca). This all-Canadian festival will be taking place in the Shoes homebase town of Toronto. Stay tuned for dates, locations and ticket info.

With “Safe” doing well, the Shoes boys have already slated their next short endeavour. “For All the Marbles” is a little dash of spice the Shoes boys are cooking up while ‘the Bandit’ is baking in the oven. This story created by the Green Shoe and Brian Hartigan (“The Leftover Bandit” writer) is about one schoolboy’s adventure during recess. And now, it has been awarded a funding grant from the Toronto Arts Council (TAC). A very special thanks goes out to the Council and all the Jurors - we won’t disappoint.

Telefilm Canada has added themselves to the recipe! This Canadian cultural investor has contributed development funds to “The Leftover Bandit”, and with their zing brightening our concoction, the 'Bandit’s' flavour will improve tenfold.

On the last Friday of every month the Toronto based organization the "Centre for the Arts” (www.centreforthearts.com) holds a short film screening supporting local artists. Shoes was proud to have “Safe” be part of the event this month. Thank you to all the members of the Centre.
